My plane from Alexandria departed on time and I have arrived safely in Dubai. After an exhausting trek throughout the airport with heavy bags, I am finally sitting at my gate waiting to board (and ready to be bored!). The next part of the flight will be 14 hours. For some reason, in DC I have to claim and recheck my luggage. What a pain.
This morning I went to EGC (school) for the last time. Everyone was so kind and Marwa had thought of everything. A small certificate ceremony was followed by many goodbyes and students wanting to speak with me. Marwa had everyone write a message in a small notebook and I enjoyed reading it on the flight.
I hate goodbyes - our parting seemed abrupt. I really need to thank the whole family for their hospitality and generosity. I will miss them all.

ReplyDeleteI felt that our good bye was abrupt too....I hate good byes and I cried when I got home because we got used to having you with us all the time. I just felt that a family member was missing. Try to update your blog as often as you can...I can't wait to know all the reactions of your students....I just want you to know that having you here with us was an absolute honor and a pleasure...You will be greatly missed and thank you for giving up two weeks of your life in the U.S. to come here and enrich our lives....
